ROAD REPORT

Spring and summer of 2009 have been a real challenge for the R.M. of Morris. All of our staff have been working very hard in the flood recovery effort. We have hired a number of contractors to help repair affected drainage and roads. We had many miles of roads covered with water due to the flood, and with any excessive rain these roads continue to be difficult to firm up and maintain. We want to assure our ratepayers that we are doing all we can to properly repair the damage and to do so in a timely manner. We appreciate your feedback and request your continued patience as our staff and contractors repair the infrastructure that was so heavily damaged.

**Please remember to advise the R.M. office if you are moving, at 746-7301, so that water bills can be adjusted.

**If you haven’t received your property tax notices, please notify the municipal office at 746-2642 to confirm that we have your correct address.

On Wednesday, June 24, the R.M. of Morris was proud to unveil the first installation of vertical axis wind turbines on a municipal facility in Manitoba. Thanks to Global Wind Group, the turbines were installed on the R.M. Public Works shop in May to help power the shop’s geothermal heating and cooling system.
